# Introduction:

Hello dYdX Community,

We would like to put up for consideration the dYdX Protocol v5.1.0, which includes performance optimizations, an update of slinky, and vault UX improvements.

**Note: the implementation of the v5.1.0 software is subject to a software upgrade governance proposal.**

Detailed information on the v5.1.0 features can be found in the [**release notes**](https://github.com/dydxprotocol/v4-chain/releases/tag/protocol%2Fv5.1.0).

# Next Steps:

dYdX Operations subDAO would like to suggest a timeline for proceeding with the vote proposal:

- Proposal Submission: July 20th
- Expected Vote Outcome: July 24th
- Upgrade Date: July 25th
