# \[DRC\] Proposal for dYdX Protocol Upgrade to v9.3

# Introduction:

Hello dYdX Community,

We’re bringing to your attention the dYdX Protocol release `v9.3`, which is addressing the recent chain halt.

The fix has been deployed [successfully on dYdX testnet](https://www.mintscan.io/dydx-testnet/proposals/342).

**Note:** the adoption of `v9.3` is subject to software upgrade via a governance proposal.

# Next Steps:

Feedback is welcome on this DRC.

Due to the critical nature of this topic, the dYdX Operations subDAO suggests an expedited proposal for this change:

- **Proposal Submission** : October 16 2025

- **Expected Vote Outcome** : October 17 2025 **(expedited)**

- **Upgrade Date** : October 20 2025

- **Suggested Block Height** : [59835000](https://www.mintscan.io/dydx/block/59835000)

**Note** : _We advise that the potential proposer revise the suggested block height at the time of proposing and pick an upgrade height close to 5:00 PM (UTC) on October 20 2025 - especially in case the ETA of 59835000 has shifted dramatically._

**Also, please note that the protocol software has dropped patch number from upgrade name, therefore mandating the use of `v9.3` in the proposal JSON.**
