Hi everyone, I just found out about the token migration after the bridge was already closed. Unfortunately, I also have 731 DYDX ERC-20 tokens locked. Just leaving a note here so that my case is also visible.
Imagine that your mom and dad came to you and said, “My last money is frozen. Please open the bridge.” Would you open it? I think so. Well, we all have children, and we’re trying to make money in this market by buying your tokens. We’re not asking for your money. We just want to access our tokens. We hope you’ll do the right thing and not ruin your karma or the karma of your descendants. God sees everything, and He’s watching over each of us.
Dear dYdX Team,
With respect and concern, I request the reopening of the ETH–dYdX bridge. I understand the closure was decided through governance, but many users, including myself, are now unable to access their tokens, which has created significant difficulties.
If possible, even a temporary reopening would greatly help the community, and we would be very grateful.
Dear dYdX Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing not only on my behalf, but also on behalf of many ordinary users who now face a very difficult situation with their ERC-20 dYdX tokens.
As you know, the transition to the native dYdX chain has created a problem: tokens that remain locked in ERC-20 wallets have essentially become unusable. Many of us hold these tokens in non-custodial wallets (such as hardware or cold wallets), and now we are at risk of permanently losing access to our hard-earned funds.
We fully understand the importance of moving forward with innovation and building a stronger decentralized future. At the same time, we kindly and respectfully ask you to consider the human side of this transition. For many retail users, these tokens represent months or even years of savings, and losing them due to technical limitations would be devastating.
That is why I humbly request that you implement a temporary bridge or migration window—even for a limited period—that would allow ERC-20 dYdX holders to move their tokens safely to the new network. This measure would demonstrate not only the technical excellence of your project, but also your deep respect and care for the community that has supported dYdX from the very beginning.
Please understand: this is not just about money. It is about trust, fairness, and protecting the integrity of your ecosystem. We are not asking for privileges, only for a chance to not lose everything we believed in.
Thank you for taking the time to read this heartfelt request. I truly hope you will listen to the voices of your community and take action that shows dYdX is not just a protocol, but a living project built on fairness and respect.
Hello guy’s, my dydx token stayed in etc-20… this is very bad situation. I didn’t know about migration.. you need give me opportunity for migration my tokens. Tnx
Dear DYDX Team
My tokens and other people are locked. Please help us! We are not asking to cancel the decision, but there may be a way to find a time window or a special solution so that we can pick up our tokens!?
Individual Dissent and Protest Against Bridge Closure
To: dYdX Foundation, dYdX Chain Validators, and dYdX Community
FORMAL PROTEST AND DISSENT
I am writing to express my strong dissent and formal protest against the permanent closure of the ethDYDX bridge on June 13, 2025, which has left my tokens and those of 45,000+ other holders locked with no viable recourse.
MY GRIEVANCES
Discriminatory Treatment: Large institutions and exchanges were directly contacted and managed to migrate their tokens, while retail holders like myself were left uninformed. This created an unfair two-tiered system that favored big players at our expense.
Breach of Good Faith: The decision explicitly admits using frozen retail funds to improve tokenomics - your own proposal states “Reducing the circulating supply of unallocated ethDYDX tokens may help offset DYDX token sales and mitigate inflationary pressure.” This is using our locked assets for the protocol’s benefit.
Governance Failure: Only 30 validators made this decision that affects tens of thousands of token holders. This was not true community governance - it was decision-making by a small group who directly benefit from reduced token supply.
Economic Harm: My ethDYDX tokens are now worthless on secondary markets (trading at $0.01 vs $0.7 market price) with no liquidity, effectively making them “empty shells.”
WHAT I DEMAND
Immediate restoration of the bridge for 6 months to allow all holders to complete migration
Official liquidity provision on major DEXs to enable fair token swaps
Compensation for gas fees incurred during the migration process
Public acknowledgment that retail holders were treated unfairly
MY POSITION
This decision undermines trust in the entire DeFi ecosystem
It sets a dangerous precedent for unpunished confiscation of user funds
The technical solutions exist - you simply choose not to implement them
Your silence on this issue speaks volumes about your commitment to the community
I am not asking for charity - I am demanding basic fairness and the fulfillment of the social contract between protocol and users.
MY COMMITMENT
I will not remain silent on this injustice. I will:
Continue advocating for a solution through all available channels
Support any legal efforts to resolve this situation
Share my experience to warn others about these practices
Consider all available options to recover my legitimate assets
This is not over until every affected holder has a fair path to recover their tokens.
The choice is yours: restore trust through action, or face the consequences of broken promises to your community. Alex
I fully support the consideration of this DRC. I was unable to migrate ethDYDX within the specified migration period. This is a significant amount for me, and it is a big financial loss. I have long supported the development of the DYDX project and am a long-term coin holder. I am confident that such community members (holders) are valuable to the project and the team. Although some of our community members were unable to migrate their coins (manually), I ask the DYDX Community and Team to find a fair way to transfer (migrate, exchange) coins for those who were late.
With respect to all Community members and the DYDX Team.
Hello everyone,
I hope this discussion, which, by the way, has been the most relevant topic since November 2024, has reached the wider community and now more clearly reflects the issues surrounding the migration from Ethereum to the native dYdX chain.
It is obvious that the six-month time slot for the bridge was not sufficient, and the communication about this transition was, to put it mildly, very quiet. As a result, we now have a large number of affected users.
I also don’t understand what kind of burden it would have been for the project to keep the bridge operational for, say, a few years, but instead we ended up with $25 million effectively turned into “worthless tokens” for people who were early supporters and backed the project with their money.
I believe this situation should be highlighted from the perspective of those affected, possibly through informational bloggers and crypto media. I am sure that many long-term holders who did not migrate their tokens are still not even aware of what has happened. This may, in fact, be a much larger issue, and we could raise more awareness so the team cannot simply remain silent about it.
I also agree with the number of proposed solutions mentioned earlier in this thread — the team has every possibility to fix this situation. I hope for their prudence, and that together we will find a solution as soon as possible and make the project stronger in the long run.
I’ve been a DYDX ERC20 holder for over a year and a half. I completely trusted the project team and didn’t visit the forums. I only learned today that the ERC20 network is not supported.
This token represents a significant amount for me. I really hope the team will provide a solution to this issue.
Dear dYdX Team,
I am writing to you as a long-term believer and supporter of the dYdX ecosystem. I have been holding 127,000 DYDX tokens on Ethereum, and I have always trusted in the vision and mission of the project.
However, I was surprised and concerned by the recent migration of DYDX tokens to the new native chain without providing an official, reliable, and straightforward bridge for ERC-20 holders. Many community members, including myself, feel left behind in this transition, as we were not given clear communication or sufficient options to move our holdings in a safe and efficient way.
I want to emphasize that I am not a speculator but a committed believer in dYdX’s long-term success. The tokens I hold are not just numbers on a screen — they represent years of conviction, loyalty, and shared belief in your team’s work.
I respectfully ask the team to consider:
-
Opening an official bridge for ERC-20 DYDX holders, so that all early supporters can transition securely into the new ecosystem.
-
Providing clear guidance and communication on how the migration will be handled, including timelines and guarantees for fairness.
-
Acknowledging the community’s loyalty — those of us who stood by the project since its early days deserve to be treated as partners, not left behind.
I believe strongly in dYdX and want to continue supporting the protocol for the long run. But for this transition to be truly fair and inclusive, the community needs to be given a real chance to migrate our holdings.
Please, give us that opportunity. It will strengthen the trust between the project and its loyal supporters, and it will demonstrate that dYdX values fairness, transparency, and long-term community building.
Thank you for your attention, and I sincerely hope the team will address this matter with the seriousness and fairness it deserves.
With respect and belief in the future of dYdX, Christophe.
Hi everyone,
I’ve invested funds across several wallets holding the ERC-20 DYDX token.
I’m confused and concerned about the recent bridge closure, especially since it appears to have happened without a clear migration path or timeline. This leaves token holders unsure how to move assets safely and what official support exists for ERC-20 holders.
Could the team please clarify:
- Whether there will be an official migration or swap for ERC-20 DYDX
- The recommended steps and deadlines for moving assets
- Any support channels and documentation for affected users
- How the team plans to support the community and protect users who are currently unable to bridge
Dear Antonio Juliano and dYdX Team,
I am a long-time holder of 169,620 DYDX tokens stored on the Ethereum network.
Only recently have I become aware of the migration of DYDX tokens to the new chain.
Unfortunately, the migration window appears to have been too short and insufficiently publicized.
Because of this lack of notice, I was unable to bridge my tokens in time.
Now the migration bridge is closed, and there is no available method to convert my Ethereum-based DYDX to the current network.
Given the size of my holdings and the circumstances, I request:
-
Direct technical assistance or an alternative method of conversion for my tokens to the active chain; and
-
A clear statement from your team on how you intend to support legacy token holders who missed the migration deadline.
Please treat this as an urgent matter.
If I do not receive a substantive response or proposed solution, I will consider filing a formal complaint with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
I look forward to your prompt reply and to a constructive resolution.
DYDX Team
I kindly ask you to allow me to transfer my tokens from the ERTS20 network to the project’s native network. I’ve invested a large amount of money in this project, and I don’t want to lose it.
[DRC Proposal] Simple Burn‑and‑Airdrop Migration for ERC‑20 DYDX Holders
Summary: The shutdown of the wethDYDX Bridge has left many ERC‑20 DYDX holders stranded, with no liquidity and no migration path. Rebuilding or extending the bridge is costly and politically contentious. Instead, we propose a simple, low‑cost, community‑driven burn‑and‑airdrop mechanism that restores fairness without technical complexity.
How It Works
-
Burn Phase
-
Users send ERC‑20 DYDX to a designated burn address on Ethereum (e.g.,
0x000...dead). -
This ensures tokens are permanently removed from circulation.
-
-
Claim Form
-
Users fill out a simple online form with:
-
Their Ethereum address (used for the burn).
-
Their Cosmos (dYdX Chain) address to receive new tokens.
-
-
-
Verification
-
A lightweight script or indexer checks Ethereum transactions to confirm the burn.
-
The Ethereum address is matched with the Cosmos address submitted in the form.
-
-
Airdrop Distribution
-
Validators or a community‑approved operator send equivalent DYDX on the dYdX Chain (1:1 ratio).
-
Distribution can be done in batches (e.g., weekly) to reduce operational load.
-
Benefits
-
Low cost: No need to rebuild or maintain a bridge.
-
Simple for users: Just send tokens and fill out a form.
-
Transparent: All burns are visible on Ethereum; all airdrops are visible on Cosmos.
-
Fair: 1:1 migration preserves value for legacy holders.
-
Community‑driven: Can be implemented with minimal Foundation involvement, respecting governance principles.
Considerations
-
Address validation: The form must check Cosmos addresses (Bech32 format) to avoid mistakes.
-
User responsibility: If a wrong Cosmos address is entered, tokens may be lost. Clear warnings are needed.
-
Governance approval: Minting on dYdX Chain requires validator and community approval.@dYdXFoundation
I also have tokens stuck, I’m a long-term holder and I don’t follow the news! As of now, the most reliable network seems to be the ETH network! I’m looking for a solution to this problem!
Dear Dydx team!
I am holder and know about migration only today.
This is a significant amount for me, and it is a big financial loss.
I have been working in the Web3 space for 8 years and currently serve in a decentralized project team.
Whenever we decide to phase out a service, we always announce a clear deadline in advance. At the same time, we keep a permanent window open so that if users happen to miss the on-chain operation, we can still support them through an OTC (over-the-counter) redemption service.
Decentralization does not mean the absence of responsibility.
As a project team, we have an obligation to support the protocol and its users. If we use “decentralization” as an excuse to withdraw from this responsibility, then the team itself becomes meaningless and redundant.
Dear community, let’s find a migration solution for those who did not have time to complete the migration process. I learned about the migration only today. I have been interested in the project from the very beginning and have been holding tokens in a cold wallet for over a year. I also want to continue holding them after the migration. Thank you
Fully agree with idea!
Please give holders opportunity to change erc20 coins to native chain!
My 6140 coins are not available, I didn’t saw any warnings to change coins to native chain until yesterday
Please meet the holders halfway and open a bridge for token exchange
