[DRC] STRK-USD to the dYdX Chain

How about we add a support of STRK (Starknet) perps? It’s a hot token. Spot trading started today on major exchanges. 24hr trading volume is around 1bln according to Coingecko.

I think we can attract new users who would like to trade STRK perpetuals.

Trading volume, market cap, and available trading venues look good.

We’d support listing STRK under liquidity tier 2. Were you planning to put the proposal up yourself? If not, we are happy to help out

Chaos Labs supports the addition of STRK-USD to the dYdX Chain and recommends listing under liquidity tier 2 with some caveats. STRK is a new token with relatively little time to bootstrap trading volume on markets feeding the Oracle feeds. This means that technically, STRK does not meet the listing criteria yet, but given its deep liquidity elsewhere and miss just on one side of the Kucoin feed, we believe that it is a suitable market to add to the dYdX Chain. In line with the criteria for introducing a new market, as detailed in the v4 documentation, we present our analysis and the rationale behind our recommendation for STRK’s listing.

Analysis

STRK is currently listed for spot trading on exchanges, including Binance, OKX, Bybit, Kraken, Gate, and KuCoin, with its launch on February 20, 2024 (CoinGecko). Recent 24-hour Perpetual volumes for STRK have also recently been north of $700m, showing interest in trading it. With aggregate liquidity of $2.6m within a ±2% range, STRK’s price stability is deemed robust enough against potential manipulation, qualifying it for listing on the dYdX Chain.

Liquidity Tier Recommendation

STRK fulfills the requirements for a Long-Tail asset as defined in the dYdX v4 documentation, and, therefore, we suggest categorizing it under liquidity tier 2.

As outlined in the v4 documentation, liquidity tiers specify the margin requirements needed for each market and should be determined based on the depth of the relative market’s spot book as well as the token’s market capitalization.

STRK aligns the Oracle liquidity requirement at 5 out of 6 Oracle sources, demonstrating liquidity greater than $50k on both sides. The Kucoin feed has ample liquidity above the mid, but does not fully meet the criteria below. Below are the volume and liquidity depth metrics for STRK:

Given that it meets the Long-Tail criteria, we suggest listing STRK at a liquidity tier of 2.
