Simple Summary
Designated Proposer Set is a subset of validators responsible for proposing blocks on the dYdX Chain. This proposal seeks community approval to update the Designated Proposer Set, namely:
-
Removal of Informal Systems;
-
Appointment of Keplr.
Abstract
On 27 September 2025, the community voted to establish the initial Designated Proposer Set. This enabled a reduction in block times from 1s to ~600ms, a direct improvement to chain performance and the overall trading execution on dYdX Chain.
Since their appointment, the Designated Proposers have maintained strong uptime and consistent governance participation. Their performance has set a strong benchmark for the validators on dYdX Chain.
Motivation/Rationale
Informal Systems is stepping down from the Designated Proposer Set. They will continue operating as an active validator on dYdX Chain, and we thank them for their commitment to the role and look forward to their continued involvement in the ecosystem.
Specification
The MEV Committee and the dYdX Grants Program recommended the appointment of Keplr to replace Informal Systems in the Designated Proposer Set.
Keplr was recommended based on the performance metrics analyzed:
-
reliability, demonstrated by consistently high uptime and minimal missed blocks;
-
operational maturity, measured by responsiveness to upgrades, monitoring practices, governance participation and infrastructure coordination; and
-
network performance, including the ability to maintain low-latency peering and fast propagation.
If this proposal passes, Informal Systems will be removed and Keplr will be appointed to the Designated Proposer Set. Therefore, the dYdX community appoints the following validators:
-
RHINO
-
Kiln
-
Kingnodes
-
PRO Delegators
-
Crosnest
-
TTT VN
-
CryptoCrew × DeFi Dojo
-
Keplr
as the designated proposers on-chain and all blocks will be proposed by one of these validators going forward. Future changes to the proposer set, whether additions or removals, will also be decided through governance.
Next Steps
We invite the community to provide feedback on this proposal. If there is no objection, we will submit the on-chain proposal on Monday, March 23, 2026.
