Validator Introduction - Openbitlab

Entity name and location
We’re Openbitlab, headquartered in Italy, Europe.
Website: https://openbitlab.com/

Infrastructure location
Our infrastructure is located in Europe: France, Germany, Poland.

What kind of hardware do you run? Baremetal, cloud-based…? In what geographic regions?
Bare metal dedicated server: AMD Ryzen 32 core, 132gb ram, 3.5TB NVME Datacenter edition, 1Gbs bandwidth.

Technical make-up of team (elaborate on no. of dev ops engineers, experience, etc.)
We are four crypto builders with 7 years of experience in network validation, active ecosystem contributors, and governance participants.
• CEO, with 10 years of experience in crypto
• CTO, with 10 years of experience in crypto
• 2 Developers and Node Managers, with 5+ years of experience in crypto

Years of experience
We have been in the crypto space since 2013 and active as validators in PoS networks since 2016. Combined, we have 30+ years of experience in crypto.

What other networks are you running validators for?
We supported 40+ networks, with 18 active mainnet positions and $20m+ in delegated assets. We work transversally on multiple ecosystems like Cosmos, Substrate, and native L1s.

Tendermint-based blockchains: Kujira, Quicksilver, Archway, Composable, Pylons, Tenet

Substrate-based blockchains: Polkadot, Kusama, Moonbeam, Moonriver, Aleph Zero, Stafi, Shiden, Amplitude, Polkadot BridgeHub

L1s: Lisk, Tezos, Near

Do you have a validator voting framework and process?
We monitor proposals since the early phase, when they start as Discord/forum discussions.
We track on-chain governance proposals on all supported networks thanks to tools developed internally, ensuring participation during the voting window.
This process allows us to take community feedback into account, identify the impact on the ecosystem, and vote wisely.
Furthermore, we monitor voting results, proposals’ execution, and expected outcomes.

Are you planning to play any additional roles in the dYdX ecosystem (e.g. market maker, trader, indexer, front-end, other)?
We’re exploring the opportunity to launch side-businesses related to market making and trading, using dYdX as underlying infrastructure.

Are there other products or services you want to highlight that could be relevant for dYdX?
We’re committed to building and maintaining:

  • testnet node
  • RPC/API/gRPC
  • relayers to supported networks
  • Daily updated chain snapshots
  • Archive node
  • Node setup guides

Any notable contributions in other ecosystems that you would like to highlight for the community?
We provide RPC/gRPC/API endpoints for Cosmos-based chains (e.g. Quicksilver, Kujira, Archway).
We also run testnet nodes for a series of networks: Avail, Aleph Zero, Namada, Astar, T3rn, Ethereum, Archway, Quicksilver.
In the past, we also ran nodes on the following chains: Aptos, Sui, Solana, Stride, Origintrail, Persistence, StafiHub, Mangata, Nomic, Celestia, Lava Network.

We’ve developed “srvcheck”, a multifunctional solution akin to a Swiss Army knife for blockchain monitoring. This tool has been meticulously crafted to safeguard the reliability and availability of our validation services across all chains.

We’ve expanded our toolkit with the addition of “srvbeat”, a redundant system designed to verify any physical downtime of our dedicated servers. This bolsters our existing tool, “srvcheck”, strengthening our server surveillance capability.
