Equations now on the dYdX Forum!

The dYdX discourse forum now has equation support thanks to @valentin and the ops subDAO team!

To Use In-line Equations

Wrap your text like this: $ <equation>$.
Example: e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0

To Use Block Equations

Wrap your text like this:
$$
<equation>
$$
Example:

e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0

This is awesome. Just to show to others how the text above looks like without the equation format:

e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0

Could you please provide more details? I’m having trouble understanding what you’re saying.

It basically means this forum now support \LaTeX-markup, which is a popular language in academia used for writing papers. It’s very useful for creating good-looking mathematical/scientific equations. The original \TeX was created by Donald Knuth: a bit of a legend in computer science circles.

Note that the code for the \TeX-logo in \TeX is simply \TeX. So writing $\TeX$ in your messages on this forum, now displays it accurately. :wink:

I’ve always found this editor to be a nice way to learn some \TeX in an exploratory way:
